TME’s new literary promotion initiative is helping authors sell more books

The Author’s Eye

With over 3,800 books published in the U.S. every day, you need someone to ensure that yours gets the attention it deserves. That’s why The MinorityEye has created The Author’s Eye, a multimedia marketing and promotions campaign designed to help minority authors sell more books.

There are more people than ever becoming published authors due to the growth of self-publishing options. Nonetheless, there are drawbacks. Self-published authors in the U.S. will likely sell fewer than 100 copies per year and no more than 1,000 copies in their lifetime.

Our Literary Awareness campaign aims to change this stat for minority authors, by helping 50 authors sell 1,000 books in their first year of publishing. The campaign will provide training and resources necessary for authors and other literary entrepreneurs to stand out in a crowded marketplace, by offering free and low-cost services related to marketing, promotions, sales, and media relations.

The Author’s Eye interview series is the campaign’s main marketing asset, which features interviews with authors and other literary professionals throughout the Carolinas in order to share insight, knowledge, and strategies for selling more books.
